You know the couple I had in mind for the(somewhat belated) wedding gift was Hugoboy (whatever his hyphenated last name is now)...would the other authors of this blog care to chip in? 55UK pounds is approximately $100.00 US or about $120.00 Canadian...screw the GST...
I have been doing some shopping around and other than the "joke"value....this particular item falls far short of other items offered on that site. Oh, by the way...none of the shops I polled...even those operated by female entrepreneurs....thought that this product was anything other than sick.
One said: "These are knives...they are not toys...to symbolicly stick them in a human form....(she visibly shuddered)...I offer only the very best in my store (a boutique specializing in kitchen gear) the kitchen is the most sacred room in any home".
A real serious "quality" knife set (fuck you Marxist Matt and your Vosulunga girl friend) which has Ghromann or Henkle knives and as Lao-tzu would put it a "pu" uncarved block costs more than twice that amount.
Evidently the stainless steel knives are made by slave labour in communist China by unfortunate individuals who said they just might prefer democracy....touchingly noble but patheticly duped fools that they are.
So here is yet another offence by this company...a betrayal of the gallant steel workers of Sheffield who, at one point in time, made blades that were world class. |

| Believe me, I wanted to be anything BUT civil. Your idea of sending the product back with a missing knife sounds like a good one to me. I think any man would see the logic. How many of those idiotic women would pause to reflect that their sons are also the symbolic recipient of those knives, not just the "bastard" that didn't give them all of the attention they "deserved". |

I knew very well that comments where people politely colored within the lines and politely....or not...said that they did not think it very nice...would simply get posted for ridicule and pilloried. Stop being polite.
You know...I just might buy one or more of those things....it would make a great wedding guift don't you think?
Or I might buy one and return it with one knife missing and post the comment "as soon as I find out which one of you has a son I'm going to stick the missing knife in the little bastard" hahahahaha |

When are you going to post all of the comments from people (not just men) who don't think your sense of humor is so "sensible"? So, declaring open season on men has become socially acceptable? If the day should come when, by some odd twist of fate, YOU become a human butcher block, will you look back with fondness on this product as you take your last breath? I would take a morbid interest at viewing the police photo so that I might compare it to the one on your ad page to see if life really does imitate "art".
I see only one dissenting comment and, of course, it's one that makes the commentator look like a "overly sensitive" and "whining" man. Glady, they wil publish the one comment from a woman that likes it so much that she can't wait to show it off lamenting only the oversight that it does not come with a name plate so that she might insert the name of the bastard du jour. |
